Amy's Tea Party
We had a great time photographing children and families this summer. But I have to say 3 year old Amy stands out. With two older brothers that are all boy, you might expect Amy to be a bit of a Tom Boy herself. Oh No! Amy is all girl, with all the fancy dresses, dolls, her bunny and teddy bears and she loves her cat "Callie". When Tonya asked Amy what she wanted to do for her birthday photos, Little Amy said she wanted a "Tea Party" with Callie at her house.
Micki and I knew what to do. We took our wicker table & chairs, the Tea Set and all the fixins. Tonya bought some flowers and we took some additional fill-in silk flowers and "ta da" we had a perfect Tea Party. With the boys trying not to be a distraction in the background we were very successful capturing Amy as she interacted with "Teddy" and "Bunny" serving tea and being the perfect hostess. We even got Callie to cooperate if for only a few minutes. All in all Amy, and her mom had a great time. It was lots of fun for us too.
A few days later Micki presented Amy's images on computer for Tonya to view in her home as promised. Oh! You didn't know. . . In May, Tripod Photography went "mobile". Now most sessions are done on location amd previews are presented at your home, office or a place of your choosing. It is still amazing and fun to know that after 30 years of photographing people of all ages, every session is different in that we never know what will happen. Capturing the wonder and joy of different personalities we create portraits that will be treasured for a lifetime not only by the families photographed, but by us as well. Over the years, we have watched families and children grow. For us it is like being grandparents and watching people we love grow before our very eyes. It becomes emotional for us really. This is another reason why we are so adamant about our "Watch Me Grow" programs. But that's another story for another time. Many thanks go out to our clients / friends / family for allowing us to be part of their lives, if only in snipets.
